NGQ Music Productions, LLC (Tampa's Prodigal Musicsmith Returns)
In it's infancy this project was called U.M.P.I.R.E. (Unlimited Music Programming In Recognition Of Excellence), the year was 1977. I had a vision of the way things ought to be, after experiencing the short comings of radio and television, and understanding the power of mass communication along with it's effect on modern society.
Then came the V.A.M.P. format that stood for Visually Accountable Music Programming and went to Washington D.C. to confer with Broadcast Attorneys and the show went on as Years OF Ears. That vision is the format that I will share with you today. It's end result envisioned by me in 1978 has not changed, only now is technology coming to the point where it can do what had designed all those years ago.
Next came HEDD RETREAT which stayed all the way through the eighties and into the early nineties, with me producing shows with my limited approach with one camera and backdrop. The content of the music is, and always has been, the corner stone of all my endeavors.
NGQ was my brainchild in 1992 and stands for Not Going Quietly and is the permanent name applied to all aspects of this project and is copyrighted 1992.
All this time I bounced in and out of radio and concert production always longing for the day when I could be on my own.
Listening and learning not only music but how the human mind perceives it. Also the impact of a Camera Lens on human behavior. I have kept myself from being polluted by the Industries that control Music and Broadcasting, and have on many occasions done shows that delight the the public, and the response has been very encouraging.
So at this time I'm ready very well educated on everything that has to do with presenting music to the public, and ready to go to work.
In the tradition of Beeker Street @ KAAY, Curt Curtis K.O.T.O., The Underground Railroad, and WFSO, NGQ Music will pickup were they left off, a truly free-form music program.
Free-Form music programming is challenging and difficult to do, that is why nobody does it. It takes a lot knowledge of music of all kinds. I will looking for those individuals who think they can do what it takes.
